Our Mission
The CGC Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to fostering a new generation of female leaders by providing comprehensive scholarship opportunities for high school female graduates. We believe that by removing financial barriers to higher education, we empower young women to pursue their dreams, create lasting change in their communities, and build a brighter sustainable future for themselves and others. Our commitment lies in identifying potential and nurturing the ambition of those ready to redefine what's possible.
The Channon Gail Christian Scholarship
Awarded to a female student who demonstrates exceptional community involvement and a vision for creating positive social change.
The CGC Foundation, Inc, (The Channon Gail Christian Foundation, Inc) was founded in 2009 in memory of Channon Christian who was carjacked, brutally raped, tortured and murdered in Knoxville, Tennessee in January of 2007.
This foundation was formed to help assist deserving young ladies with their strive, passion and desire to make a difference in the future of our community and in our world.
Channon’s passion in life was children and finding a way to help them in whatever way possible, no matter the need. The Channon Gail Christian Foundation Scholarship was created to continue Channon’s passion and dreams through the lives of others that would continue to carry out her legacy. It was founded to bring something good and positive out of something so tragic. In providing a scholarship annually to a young lady graduating from a Knox or Surrounding County, Tennessee and attending The University of Tennessee - Knoxville Campus as a Freshman that shares Channon’s same passion and dreams, we believe that it will do just that, and help someone to make a difference in the lives of others.
Once the young lady has been selected and accepted this scholarship she will forever be known as an elite group of young ladies that will forever be known as Channon’s Angels.
Scholarship Program
Specifically designed for female graduates from the Knox County and surrounding areas attending and pursuing degrees from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville Campus.
Supporting young ladies who have overcome significant challenges to graduate and wish to pursue and desire to make a difference in this world.
